Courses
The Department of English and Comparative Literature encourages students to explore literature from historical, cultural, and aesthetic standpoints. We ask students to consider how the reception of literary texts has changed over time, asking, even, how our conception of "literariness" shifts from period to period, from place to place.
Below are descriptions for the courses offered this semester, straight from the professors
themselves. Each summary serves as an overview of a given course, and often includes
objectives and required texts.
