Submissions The Rectangle is published annually. The postmark deadline for submissions is May 15. The Rectangle publishes poetry, fiction, literary non-fiction, and critical essays. Submission by a single author for each issue of the journal should not exceed six poems and three pieces of prose. Prose manuscripts should not exceed 2500 words. Contributors must be members of Sigma Tau Delta. All contributions to The Rectangle must be typed, single-spaced, on 8 1/2-by-11 inch paper. Do not use onionskin paper or italic, "script" typefaces. Submissions by fax or e-mail cannot be accepted. To allow for blind jurying, contributors must not identify themselves in any way on any page of text submitted. Rather, the following information must appear on a cover sheet: contributor's name, address (current and permanent), telephone number, class standing (junior, graduate student, alumnus or alumna, etc.), chapter name, chapter advisor, college name, college address, title, and category of work(s) submitted. The cover sheet should also mention any prior publication of the work (journal name, volume, date, page[s]). Previously published work should be re-typed for submission to The Rectangle. Contributors desiring replies must include self addressed, stamped envelopes. Sigma Tau Delta does not return manuscripts. Retain original manuscripts and submit second copies or photocopies. Sigma Tau Delta and the editors cannot accept responsibility for original manuscripts. Replies are sent before the publication of the upcoming issue. Send submissions to:

| The Rectangle is published once a year in April with the continuing generous assistance of Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, Illinois) and The Metropolitan College of Denver (Denver, Colorado. Publication is limited to members of Sigma Tau Delta. Members are entitled to a one year subscription upon payment of the initiation fee. The annual subscription rate is five dollars(U.S.). |
