Colleagues and Friends of the Arts, it brings me great pride to announce that Maggie Jaffe, a lecturer in our department, and a fabulous colleague known for her cool courses in Latin American literature, poetry, and creative writing, has been tapped as of one of our nation's 2009 poetry fellowship recipients, a $25,000 award, by the NEA, The National Endowment for the Arts. On behalf of our faculty and the students, allow me to extend my warmest thanks to Maggie for the amazing work she shares with the students of our university!

Colleagues, Graduate Students, & Undergraduate Lovers of Literature, it thrills me to forward the news that Ilya Kaminsky, Assistant Professor of English and Comparative Literature, and a key member of our Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing faculty is the recipient of a $100,000 Lannan Foundation 2008 Literary Foundation Fellowship in Poetry. This is an extraordinary honor for Professor Kaminsky and our department! Congratulations Ilya!
