The faculty of the Department of English and Comparative Literature sends our warmest congratulations on your upcoming graduation.  We invite you and your family to two graduation ceremonies to be held in your honor:

  • The College of Arts and Letters will honor all College graduates on Sunday, May 22, at 1 p.m. in Viejas Arena.
  • The Department of English and Comparative Literature will honor English and Comparative Literature graduates on Sunday, May 22, at 10:00 a.m. in the Don Powell Theatre.

At the Department ceremony, each graduate will be called by name and receive a diploma cover and Certificate of Recognition.  Retiring professor Jerry Griswold will be our commencement speaker, and Outstanding Graduates in English and Comparative Literature and their Most Influential Faculty Members will be recognized.  Please encourage your favorite faculty members to attend, and invite your friends and family.  Seating is not unlimited. Please arrive early.

California Candids will offer their professional photography services at the ceremony.

If you or any of your guests use a wheelchair or require special assistance, please notify Tracy Fox-Tanga in Student Disability Services, (fox123@mail.sdsu.edu), by May 1, 2011. You may also visit the Commencement 2011 Accommodations for Guests with Special Needs page at: http://newscenter.sdsu.edu/commencement/da.aspx

A separate mailing from the College of Arts and Letters will arrive with information about the College graduation ceremony and a campus map.  If you have any questions, please visit the commencement website:
