Jeanette Roberts Shumaker, PhD

Jeanette Roberts Shumaker is a professor of English at SDSU, Imperial Valley who has a joint appointment in the SDSU English Department. Jeanette does research on Victorian and Edwardian fiction, and on modern Irish women writers. Her PhD is from Claremont Graduate School, She also earned a Higher Diploma in Anglo-Irish literature from Trinity College, Dublin. Jeanette coauthored a scholarly book with William Baker on the fiction of the neglected Anglo-Jewish writer, Leonard Merrick, that is forthcoming from Fairleigh Dickinson University Press/ AAUP. Jeanette plays the fiddle and enjoys yoga, hiking with her husband and son, and playing with her dogs and cats.
